Dear Paul,

As you know, after 18 years and 345,000 miles I am finally giving up my 1987 Volvo 740 sedan.  I do this with a heavy heart, because I loved driving that old reliable tank, even at the end when it finally started to wear down.  I was hoping to keep it alive long enough to pass down to my daughter, who will be learning to drive next year (the same vehicle had brought her home from the hospital as an infant years ago).  Alas, that was not to be and maybe for the better.

I want to take this opportunity to thank you and the entire staff of Performance Motoring for having served me and my car with nearly flawless expertise and friendliness for the past 15 years.  Through all that time and seven timing belts, you folks have always treated me fairly and honestly, with good humor too.  I like the people you have hired over the years.  I like your other customers.  There is no doubt about it: being your client has contributed greatly to my pleasure in owning a car.

You may not be seeing much of me for the next few years as I break in that new vehicle of mine, all but guaranteed never to give me a moment of trouble.  Rest assured that I will be depending upon your services again when the time comes.

Dear Bill,

I just had to write to you and let you know how much I love my 'new' Volvo.  I am just back from a 2000 mile trip taking my son to look at colleges, and the car was a dream.  I felt so secure driving it on high mountain roads and crazy highways, knowing how your mechanics had dealt with every single detail, and had checked and double checked and gone out of the way to make everything just right.  Plus, I got 33 miles to the gallon on one tank and always over 30 miles to the gallon, and that in a really spacious V70 wagon.

But more than that I wanted to tell you how much I liked dealing with Performance Motoring.  I felt that other Volvo dealers lost interest once they learned I was looking for an older car and trying to get the rock bottom price.  I felt like everyone at Performance treated me like I was buying a top of the line new car.  You gave me good advice and hours of your time, great patience and genuine interest in making everything about the car the best it could be.  I'm not a car person, but every aspect of buying a car from Performance was positive.  I feel you all went far and beyond what anybody would expect from a car dealership.

A lot of my friends have driven to New Hampshire or to other areas when buying Volvos.  Guess where I'm telling them to go instead.
